Downtown is the geographic center of Dallas, Texas. It has experienced strong growth since the early 2000s and encompasses a total of 15 districts. Now defined as an interconnected group of urban areas, Downtown Dallas has many unique districts to explore, which all lend to one larger downtown vibe.
 
There are many modern and contemporary homes available downtown, with a large majority being luxury apartments. These apartments have great amenities and gorgeous views of the city, making for truly relaxing living.

Local Lifestyle

Downtown Dallas is a great urban space to call home. Considered a flagship city, Downtown Dallas is the perfect place for young professionals to settle. With many large companies centered in the area, the job market is booming with opportunities. The area also has great public transport, making the various districts easily accessible to everyone. Recent redevelopments have improved the Arts District with great cultural amenities as well as the Convention Center corridor’s new convention hotel, both being a major draw to the area.
 

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Downtown is home to several great places to shop and eat. The following restaurants and shops are only a few of the great offerings in the area but are also some of the best.
 
When exploring the various districts of Downtown, one of the best restaurants in the area is The French Room. Located within the historic and luxurious Hotel Adolphus, The French Room is home to fine French dining and beautiful rococo decor to elevate your dining experience. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, check out Jaxon Beer Garden for classic comfort foods, drinks, and live music. For everything from breakfast to dinner, The Exchange Food Hall has a large array of cuisines to pick from.
 
Downtown also has plenty of great shops to choose from—such as Commerce Goods + Supply, a women’s boutique selling upscale and casual clothing, accessories, as well as home decor and toys. Guns & Roses is also a great boutique selling high-end designer menswear and womenswear, including accessories, jewelry, and sunglasses. Hotel Shop at the Joule is a high-end gift shop that sells a variety of handcrafted decor, jewelry, apparel, and more. For groceries, stop by one of the various Berkley’s Markets in the area.
 

Things to Do

Downtown has many great opportunities for experiencing local culture. With many museums, parks, and events in the area, there’s sure to be something to fit anyone’s tastes.
 
If you want to spend time at a park, visit Klyde Warren Park, a 5.2-acre park with space for fitness classes, a children’s playground, a dog park, and ample space to relax in the sun or shade. Main Street Garden Park is also a great choice. With 1.75-acres, this park has public space and WiFi, a toddler’s play area, dog areas, and public art displays. If you love art, check out Nasher Sculpture Center and the Dallas Museum of Art.
 
For local events, Klyde Warren Park hosts weekly events as well as annual ones, such as the Independence Day Celebration and Tree Lighting Celebration. There are also many live music venues throughout the city that host great concerts during the year.
 

Schools

Downtown Dallas is served by the Dallas Independent School District and has several great schools to choose from. One private school of note is First Baptist Academy of Dallas, a college preparatory school for pre-K through grade 12.
